We sometimes forget that the most natural things in the world
are powerful sources of energy, or life force. Sun, wind, and
water power all carry the force of life. If you walk barefoot,
you can even feel the energy of the Earth pulsating through
your feet. We wouldn't function without it. When the body dies,
its energy simply moves on. Life force is found in absolutely
everything, from powerful waterfalls to immovable stones. It's
a neutral energy, and it's the basis of all creation.
At
the heart of the Chinese philosophy is the idea of Yin and Yang.
People believe that these positive and negative energies are
the building blocks of our planet, human life, and the rest
of the universe. Both Yin and Yang contain elements of each
other, shown as dots inside the two shapes, which help to provide
balance in life, and make it more interesting.
The
ancient meaning of Yin was the 'shaded north side' of a hill
while Yang meant the 'sunny south side'. Yang controls heaven
and all things positive, active, light, masculine, unyielding,
moving and living. Yin controls the earth and all negative,
passive, dark, soft, still and non-living entities.
The
seasons reflect the Yin-Yang balance. In winter, Yin is at its
greatest power and Yang is at its least. In spring, Yin and
Yang are equal, as Yang waxes and Yin wanes. In the summer,
Yange reaches its height and by autumn, the balance of Yang
and Yin has returned, but with Yin waxing and Yang waning. The
cycle continues into the next year and in an unbroken circle.
Around
the outside of the physical body are invisible
fields of etheric, astral, mental, and causal energy. Together,
these are known as an aura. Some holistic medical practitioners
believe that illness begins in the aura and works its way through
to the denser physical body. People often say that serious illness
can be caused by suppressing our feelings. Instead of being
released from the body's cells and through the aura, they become
trapped in our physical body and can make us ill. Some people
can even see the colors of other people's auras very clearly
and use the colors to diagnose and treat their illnesses. The
colors mean different things depending on the area. The right
side of the body shows your outer self, the left side shows
your emotional self, and the area over your head shows how you
see yourself.
Historically,
artists depict halos around the heads of individuals to denote
their spirituality. Biblically, writers refer to the raiment
or countenance of light in an attempt to describe the field
of spiritual energy around angels, men, and women. It is from
this invisible atmosphere that we receive our first impression
of people. We use common-sense terms such as blue mood, red
with anger, green with envy, full of energy, or radiant beauty.
Such terms are similar to how individuals with spiritual sight
describe the aura. From this intuitive nature, we form impressions
and experience emotions and feelings regarding them and ourselves.
Quantum
physics describes the universe as energy, with energy and matter
interchangeable. Psychology, Eastern therapy, and complementary
medicine have terms for life as energy. Yoga psychology views
the aura as an energy field surrounding the body, interacting
through spiritual and psychological levels via structures called
chakras. So we may conclude that the aura is an energy field
that surrounds the physical body and is discernible to those
of psychical sight. It encircles each of us as the sun's rays
encircle the sun or the halo that surrounds the moon. The appearance
of the aura, whether attractive or repulsive, depends on one's
physical health, mental attitudes, and spiritual development.
The human aura is a dynamic matrix that includes the physical,
emotional, and mental-spiritual aspects of self.
The
aura is the self as energy. All the contributing factors in
our daily life register in our aura as colors, lines, dots,
emanations, and vibrations. Every one of us is different, and
our hidden selves are expressed through the aura. Those individuals
who live on a strictly physical, mental, and material level
have an entirely different emanation than those individuals
who are intellectual and spiritual.

Universal Life Force Energy
|
|
The
warmth and/or energy radiated by anything or situation that
exists, including; people, animals, insects, plants, rocks,
water, music, place, ect., is life force energy. Energy, at
some level, exists in all things, even the ground you walk on
and the clouds above your head.
Everything
in our universe is made up of atoms and sub-atomic particles.
Atoms are constantly in motion - and motion is energy. As I
mentioned, energy is not only found in living beings and objects,
but in all things. Sound is produced by energy, as any scientist
will vouch for, and sound waves are energy in motion. Light
is also energy, perhaps in its truest form, which many of us
never think twice about.
On
a more personal level, our own thoughts and emotions are produced
by energy. In order for someone to actually have a thought or
an emotion, certain chemical must be released in our bodies.
These chemicals set off electrical currents that jump across
the synapses in our brains producing every thought and feeling
we experience. Some people can even pick up on the thoughts
and emotions of others, thus proving the power of the energy
contained within us.
Places,
such as houses, churches, schools, etc., can also hold energy.
There are even accounts where the energy in a building or place
is so strong that it has had a physical effect on the individuals
who have come it contact with it. Even you have probably experienced
the energy of a room or area at some point and time, perhaps
while visiting a sacred temple, walking through a cemetery,
or entering a concert hall. Energy is surrounding us at all
times yet most people just aren't tuned into it. When
an individual is attuned to Universal Life Force Energy, as
with Reiki, he or she becomes a channel through which energy
flows and can be used for healing; increasing or dispersing
energy, removing emotional or psychological blocks, and easing
pain or discomfort.
