Tarot
is a time-honored tradition of using a set of cards to gain
insight and achieve greater control over issues involving relationships,
career, health, life changes, and opportunities. Over 1,000
years old, with roots that go back 3,000, Tarot is a repository
of ancient wisdom. Our modern playing cards are derived from
the Tarot deck and can also be read as such.
The history
of Tarot symbols is shrouded in mystery. Tarot is believed to
have come out of China, India or Egypt. Modern tarot cards date
back to 14th Century Spain, Italy and France
The
Tarot allows us to become consciously aware of what is going
on in the virtual realm. In using Tarot, we may access the personal,
collective, or universal domain. It is an excellent tool and
a highly popular form of divination.
Most Tarot decks consist of 78 cards, made up of 22 Major Arcana
and 56 Minor Arcana cards. The cards of the Major Arcana symbolize
our mind, body, spirit, and emotions. The cards of the Minor
Arcana are divided into four suits - Wands, Cups, Swords, and
Pentacles - that represent certain aspects of ourselves or symbols
that we can use in our lives. Each card is symbolic of energies
or spiritual truths related to the individual, depending on
its position in a layout.

There
are various Tarot layouts, the most popular being the Celtic
Cross. The position of a card in a layout determines how that
card is read. For example, the first position in the Karmic
Spread represents Destiny. This card will offer spiritual guidance
and look at the best outer manifestation of your being. The
seventh and last position in the Karmic Spread is Karmic Balance,
the principal lessons for you in this lifetime are shown by
this card.
It is very important to realize that the Tarot doesn't always
show us what we want to know, but rather what we need
to know. You may be seeking information about a trip you've
been planning and receive cards that are associated with a friend
or loved one. This happens because an aspect of our higher-selves
has placed greater importance on this information and needs
to communicate these issues to you.
