Welcome To Forever

We are dangerous together
coiled in our passion spell
daring the night to swallow us whole
We flow through and fall into each other
until the membranes which hold us together become extinct
and we are left pressing harder against ourselves
against our oneness
against the night

My love for you
is an ocean of fire
continually drowning my soul in a wave of flames
Flames which burn higher, glow brighter
with each passing moment
with each breath I take

I am consumed by you
by your beauty
forever fumbling in my own adoration
and constantly amazed by the depth of your love for me
A love stronger than anything I've ever known
truer than anything I've ever felt
and a thousand times more real than anything I've ever believed

Our souls have danced in a lightness as though we were angels
Our bodies have formed life as though we were gods
But it's our hearts which tangle around each other and remind us
that we are human
that we are blessed
and that nothing else matters
except every
single
day of our lives

You Come In Waves

Walking along the shore
water runs in to kiss my feet
then slips back into the ocean

I remember you and I
naked on the beach
The sand, squirming beneath us
etching memories in our pores
You were my tide
my undulation
slowly moving in...and out
urging me closer with a subtle pull
I gave in, drowned in your depth
became liquid
and mixed with your mystery

Now, as I walk along the shore
I feel you...

rushing in
and kissing my feet

Variations On A Theme

Funny
how words change their meaning
right in the middle of everything
switch definitions
to fit the mood of the heart

Funny
how things turn unexpectedly
how much diversity in three little words

When I say this
don't ask what I mean

Yes
of course
I love you

Spelling

Magic wrestles between us
makes us question our craft
and if this art is all that it seems

In darkness
I've seen you
strange and wonderful
working full moons
beneath sleeves of night
So tightly there
pressing me into
raising me up
then lacing me through

Yet, I question you
(as everything)
your hands 'round my shoulders
those spells that you string
And how familiar
your touch is in darkness
drawing me close
to such magical things

Requited

I breathe you in
swallow down those times you're human
those sounds you make while sleeping
that second. . . just before you touch me
I am that deep
inhaling all your tiny moments
holding them inside myself
and making them my own

There are times when I feel selfish
hoarding you in
unhappy without
all your many, multi-masses
intricate pieces, varied facets
Every little thing you do
each inticing part of you

On occasion, I'm afraid
lie in darkess, wide awake
and ponder in that sleepless state
just how much you'll let me take
And if I
within one lifetime
could give as much as you
If I
with just one lifetime
could give as much as you

Particles Of Light

Something so foreign might touch me
as to make me believe there are ghosts
make me walk alone in darkness
down deserted streets
I'll find you, somewhere
crammed in tiny corners
lingering on the air
There's nowhere you'll go
that I can't feel you

And if there are images that I've undone
I'll try to heal them
Bring particles of light together
rebuild some form of you
For I can't image risks without you
walking off ledges, no plans to hang on
And I know, in my heart
you can't be replaced

Calculations

Your tongue is a knife
splitting me open
inserting words in unlikely spaces

I swell up
and multiply

All I Conceive

You shift beneath Venetian moons
swell up
and pour the night inside me

I decompress
let everything surface
tighten my rings
and sing

You
are everything
my mouth has become
Even in dreams
your flesh is tangible
Your skin on my lips
my teeth
combing through hair of your abdomen

Absolute and perfect
you shifted night inside me
let me swell from the moon
that gave birth to our son

Dreaming You

I think of you often
winding down long, windy, summer highways
Stars, skies, parables
the dust kick of tar on wheels
Traveling passed dowries
domestic dimensions
driving passed everything that you've told me

Directions -- all encompassing
remote corners of the mind
Horizons, looming before me
eating snow-caps left behind
How delicious I might think of you
amaretto and chocolate
topaz eyes in candy stores

Down, down
this long, winding highway
steering passed blocks and barricades
The radio knows the memories
plays your words across the waves
Delicate words, dripping open
filling my mouth with mists and moons
Moons, so many moons
How many moons until I see you
How many comets diluting the seas

Sometimes, unconscious occasions
I slip through the exits of night
find sleep, bent back
loitering in shadows
A soul hitcher, pointing to Orion
star-clad hunter of night
I think of you
Of your fine arrows
sharp tips embedded in my heart

Signs and lights, signs and lights
the world, blinking off and on in the distance
A rare merging of earth and sky
The moon, lying on bellies of mountains
soft asleep
and dreaming you
