Seers
gaze into a crystal ball, bowl of water, or any other reflective
surface, until a hazy mist begins to appear. Gradually, a darker
window appears in the mist. This represents the opening of the
mind's eye, and in it can appear people, places, and symbols
of emotion. How these images appear is relative to their meaning.
To aid in your gazing experience, dim the room you will be working
in and relax. Many people report that working by candlelight
is most effective -- especially when the candle is flickering.
If you have an overhead fan, you may want to turn it on to achieve
this effect.
- An
image moving towards the scryer suggests that the event or
person will occur or appear very soon.
- An
image moving away suggests that the event or person is either
moving away from the scryer's world or that a past issue or
relationship may still be exerting undue influence on the
scryer.
- Images
appearing on the left are actual physical concerns.
- Images
appearing in the center or to the right tend to be symbolic.
- Pictures
near the top of the scrying object are important and need
prompt attention.
- Those
at the bottom are less prominent or urgent.
- The
relative size of the images can indicate their importance.
You
should always record the images and feelings that you experience
in a journal. Also, make sure you note the day, time, and moon
phase as these will be helpful in determining the best time
for you to conduct your crystal gazing.
